From the development of fine motor skills to the critical thinking of art concepts, the St. Pius X art program grows with the students through such media as watercolor paint, screen printing, wood carving, jewelry making, and metal embossing.
Art Club: Students in grades 1-7 who are passionate about visual art and want to work on extended projects beyond the regular classroom sessions can choose to participate in an after school Art Club.
Art Show: Each year, teachers select student's artwork to showcase in our Art Show, which families are invited to view.
Music: Pre-K and K students learn to feel the beat in music and sing tunefully through singing fun songs, playing rhythm instruments and moving to music. Lower School students begin to learn about how to read, write and sing from standard music notation. Third graders play the recorder, and fourth graders have a special emphasis on vocal technique. Middle School: Instruments of the orchestra, music history and small group performance are explored. At all levels, the importance of music in the Catholic liturgy is emphasized through regular practice of songs for the Mass. Extracurriculars: Tone Chimes Ensemble, Choir, art and music festivals
Drama:
